Getting Ready for Next School Year

Immunizations

NOTICE - Immunizations for incoming 7th graders
All students who will be entering the 7th grade in the 20145-2016 school year will need to obtain vaccinations this summer (if they have not already done so). The State of Texas requires that all students be vaccinated against certain communicable diseases before starting school.  Students that do not meet the 2015-2016 Texas Minimum State Vaccine Requirements will not be able to start the school year OR obtain his or her schedule if immunizations are not up to date.  Please check with your doctor or the school nurse if you have any questions.

The 2015-2016 school year will be here before you know it.

Please contact the LMS office with any questions.  There will also be more information about registration on the LISD website during the summer.

LMS Awards Ceremonies

The Lorena Middle School Awards Ceremonies will be held Wednesday, May 20th in the LMS Gymnasium.

6th grade @ 8:30
7th grade @ 9:30
8th grade @ 10:30

While we believe that all Lorena Middle School students work hard, the Award Ceremonies are designed to recognize student achievement above and beyond daily expectations.  If your student does not receive individual recognition at the ceremony, it is not because they are not hard workers or great students.

We would also like to thank each of our parents for the support give students everyday and the support shown to Lorena Middle throughout the 2014-2015 school year.

Congratulations to the Lorena Middle School Teacher of the Month for May - Mrs. D'Aun Cox!

Mrs. Cox has been nominated and selected as Lorena Middle School's May Teacher of the Month.  Mrs. Cox teaches 7th grade Science and is the Science Department Chair at Lorena Middle School.   This is her 25th year in education and her 14th year in Lorena at the middle school campus.

Below is a portion of the nomination letter Mrs. Cox received:

Mrs. Cox is a true teacher professional! She is continuously looking for new ways to engage her students with the challenging materials taught in her class and other grade level science classes.  Mrs. Cox embraces new technology tools and seeks grants to help fund new technology for students too.  She is truly equipping students with what they need to be successful 21st century learners.  Mrs. Cox is quite deserving of this accolade.
